CROSS LAMINATED TIMBER
In the UK market, Egoin specialises in structures composed primarily by Cross Laminated Timber and glulam beams.
We can also deliver steel beams and bespoke in-house fabricated steel connections as part of a project package.
Cross-laminated timber (CLT) is a wood panel typically consisting of three, five, or seven layers of timber boards oriented at right angles to one another and then glued to form structural panels with exceptional strength, dimensional stability, and rigidity.
We manufacture CLT panels with PEFC certified wood from two species of trees
- Radiata Pine (Pinus Insignis). The wood is locally grown in Basque Forests and it has a high density, in dark red-brown colour.
- Whitewood Spruce (Picea Abies): It is the most commonly used species in the UK and we import it from Central Europe.
Due to transport limitations, the panels can be up to 3m wide x 13,5m long. See our catalogue for more information on dimensions, panel thicknesses and structural load/span/panel thickness diagrams.
At Olatek (Add a hyperlink to Olatek website), we produce bespoke glulam beams up to 40m long, portal frames, pedestrian walkways an all sort of structures with standard and in‐house fabricated bespoke connections.
We also have a stock with a wide range of sections and lengths for supply only.
Please check our Glulam stock lists for more information.
